1. Compare of ball mill and rod mill
The granularity of products of rod mill is even with little slurry. Rod mill has the feature of selectable crushing of coarse grain, while that of ball mill is bad. The grain size of ball mill is not even with many coarse and fine grains.
2. Application of ball mill and rod mill
According to the features of ball mill and rod mill, we can get the application as follows:
1) In order to prevent the valuable mineral are over crushing, the magnetic separation plants that process tungsten-tin mine and other rare mine’s choose light-powdered rod mill in the primary section.
2) Be used as the substitute of cone crusher for fine crushing. When dealing with soft and hard minerals, especially the ore with more slurry and big viscidity, the cone crusher may cause many powder and dust and block machine in fine crushing process. If we use rod mill instead of cone mill, it can grind the ore from 20-30 mm to 6-10 mm, which greatly reduce the production cost and simplify dedusting in fine crushing.
3) The products granularity of rod mill is 3-1 mm in coarse grinding. Its min. production capacity is bigger than the ball mill with the same dimension. But the grinding size of rod mill is below 0.5mm in fine grinding, which productivity is smaller than the ball mill.
